Maternal Child RN - New Graduate

Weirton Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Maternal Child unit. This is an entry-level nursing position in an inpatient hospital setting, welcoming nurses with less than 12 months of experience.

What you'll do:

• Deliver nursing care using the nursing process—assessing patients, creating care plans, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes

• Provide age-appropriate care with knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan

• Assess and respond to patient safety concerns through appropriate resources

• Educate patients based on their individual learning needs and use teach-back methods to confirm understanding

• Apply evidence-based practice in daily patient care

• Ensure continuity of care through proper documentation and handoff communication

• Work with the interprofessional team while recognizing each member's scope of practice

• Deliver culturally sensitive, holistic care that considers family dynamics and patient beliefs

• Delegate tasks appropriately and retain accountability for delegated care

• Participate in organizational patient-centered care initiatives

Requirements:

• Current RN license issued by West Virginia or a current multi-state (compact) license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact

• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire

• Less than 12 months of nursing experience (new graduates welcome)

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree

Schedule:

• 36 hours per week

• Varied shifts

• Work in a hospital environment with protracted or irregular hours as needed

Physical demands:

• Lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, and walking

• Working around biohazards and infectious diseases

• Normal visual acuity and hearing required

• Patient handling limited to safe practices with lift equipment and aids

• Entry at Level 1; progression available based on experience, education, and specialty certification
