Job description

Social Media Marketing Placement (Student Placement Year) – Petite Staples - hybrid for 9 to 12 months, aligned to your course
Petite Staples is looking for a placement student to take ownership of our social media. This isn't a shadowing role. You'll run our channels day to day, build relationships with petite creators, manage our paid ads, and see the direct impact of your work on a growing fashion brand. It suits a self-starter who likes figuring things out, wants real results for their portfolio, and is building a career in fashion marketing, social media or brand building.
About Petite Staples
Petite Staples is a womenswear brand for petite women from 4’6” to 5’3”. We focus on creating elegant pieces designed to fit and flatter petite proportions without the endless hemming and compromise. Founded by Kemeesha in 2025 we sell online through our own store and are building a community of women tired of mainstream sizing that wasn't made with them in mind.
What you'll own

  • Creator outreach: find and contact petite influencers and women who create content about being petite or petite fashion, and manage relationships from first message to posted content
  • Collaborations: run gifting and partnerships end to end, including product sends, briefs, deadlines and tracking results
  • Content creation: plan, shoot, edit and publish short-form video, styling posts and product content across Instagram, TikTok and [other channels]
  • Paid ads: manage our paid social campaigns from start to finish, including audiences, creative, copy, budgets, testing and reporting, within an agreed monthly budget
  • Content calendar: plan and run the monthly calendar, including product launches and seasonal campaigns
  • Community: manage comments and DMs, and feed customer questions back into content
  • Reporting: produce a weekly results report across organic, creator and paid activity, plus a monthly review of what worked and what's next

Your targets
You'll agree goals with the founder in your first two weeks and be measured against them. These will include:
What we're looking for

  • Currently enrolled on a UK degree or course that requires a work placement as part of its assessment, e.g. Fashion Marketing, Fashion Business, Fashion Communication or Marketing (with placement year)
  • Proactive: you spot what needs doing and get on with it without waiting to be asked
  • Organised and reliable: you meet deadlines, keep track of every creator conversation and campaign, and do what you say you'll do
  • Confident reaching out to people you don't know, and good at building relationships
  • Comfortable on camera or behind it, with editing skills (CapCut, Canva or similar)
  • Experience with Meta or TikTok ads is a bonus, but a willingness to learn quickly matters more
  • Interested in numbers, not just aesthetics: you want to know what drives results and why

Extra points if you are Petite!
Support you'll get

  • A dedicated supervisor (the founder), with weekly one-to-ones to review results and set priorities
  • An agreed placement plan at the start, mapped to your course's learning outcomes
  • Full cooperation with your university's placement requirements, including check-ins (in person or virtual), assessments and reflective reports
  • A reference, plus measurable results you can put in your portfolio and CV

The details

  • Location: hybrid/ central london
  • Duration: 9 to 12 months, aligned to your course placement requirements (maximum 12 months)
  • Hours: to be discussed with flexibility around academic commitments

Please note: This is an unpaid placement, undertaken as a mandatory, assessed part of a UK further or higher education course, in line with the National Minimum Wage student work placement exemption. Applicants must be able to provide confirmation from their university or college that the placement is a required part of their studies.
